Getting an annual flu vaccine can:

  • Reduce the risk of hospitalization or death from flu and its complications by over 50%
  • Reduce the overall risk of getting the flu. If you do get the flu, it will reduce the severity and duration of illness
  • Protect at risk individuals in your home, work, and school (pregnant women, infants under 6 months, elderly, those with immune, heart, or lung disease, and more). This is even more important for children with asthma, heart disease, or those with a weakened immune system

What to Know

  • Non school-based Flu vaccine clinics are open to anyone – you do not need to be a North Star patient!
  • All clinics will offer higher-dose vaccines for people 65 and older, depending on supplies.
  • Most health insurance plans cover vaccinations with no co-pay.
  • For those under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present or complete a consent prior to receiving the vaccine.
