Transportation Options

  • If you have Medicaid – Patients enrolled in Medicaid with no registered vehicle may be eligible for a Medicaid sponsored ride. Call (888) 869-6287. 2 days notice is preferred. 
  • If you or your spouse has served in the military – The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) may be able to help. Call (802) 295-9363 ext 5739. 
  • If you are age 60+ or disabled– The MOOver offers specialized rides for this. 2 days notice and preauthorization is required.
  • If you are visually impaired- The Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired may be able to provide transportation to medical appointments, social services, and shopping. Call (877) 350-8840. 
  • For New Hampshire Residents receiving care in Vermont: New Hampshire Healthy Families Non‐Emergent Medical Transportation 1-866-769-3085. Please call 3 business days before the appointment for guaranteed transportation.
  • Other Options
    • The MOOver- You can receive transportation through the MOOver daily Bus Routes. Bus can deviate from regular routes when you call ahead. *Some routes request a $1-2 fee, others are free. Call (888) 869-6287 or visit www.moover.com for bus routes and more info. 
    • T&J Taxi– Springfield area patients with the financial means can contact T&J Taxi (802) 885-4783 to hire a cab for their appointment.
    • Springfield Residents with a vehicle and mobility challenges: Springfield Resident Public Assist: Call the Fire Department at (802) 885-5456 for assistance getting from home to private vehicle and from private vehicle to home. The Fire Department doesn’t follow to the destination, so you need to be able to get to appointment independently or with supports from someone at the destination.
