North Star Health, a regional Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is expanding its reach with the launch of Mobile Health Services. The Dr. Delores Barbeau Mobile Health Unit will begin regular alternating weekly deployments to Brattleboro and Bellows Falls this July, bringing accessible walk-in primary care directly into these communities.

The mobile unit will operate on an alternating weekly schedule:

  • Brattleboro Launch (Starting Tuesday, July 14): The unit will be stationed every other Tuesday in the parking lot of the Windham County Dental Center (53 Fairview St., Brattleboro, VT 05301).
  • Bellows Falls Launch (Starting Tuesday, July 21): The unit will operate on alternating Tuesdays at Fall Mountain Pharmacy (78 Atkinson St., Bellows Falls, VT 05101).

During these times, Will Hoser, PA-C and Scott Belt, RN will be available for walk-in primary care needs, including nonemergency medical care.

As with all of North Star Health services, the Mobile Health Unit provides care to anyone, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Patients with insurance are asked to bring their insurance card with them.

This represents one step in a significant geographical expansion of services after North Star relocated services from the Rockingham Health Center in 2025. Joshua R. Dufresne, CEO said, “We recognize that transportation gaps remain a barrier for some of our patients trying to reach our brick-and-mortar clinics. By bringing the Dr. Delores Barbeau Mobile Health Unit directly to these towns, both of which lack a federally qualified health center, we are filling a distinct primary care gap. A special thank you to Senator Sanders for all his advocacy to help us make this happen.”
